May 15, 2024CYMS would like to express our gratitude towards our facilitators Andrea Jolly, Lindsay Linklater-Weistche, Bernice Kapashesit and Priscila Proulx for the successful delivery of our Natural Helpers for the Children Learning Circle that took place in Moose Factory for 8 consecutive weeks from January to March of this year!
For those of you who may not know, this program was designed locally and is a learning and growth opportunity available for all interested community members that focuses on the topic of infant and early mental health. It is just one of the unique ways our Agency is supporting mental health in the early years.
We are so happy to share that 10 participants have completed the program and have contributed to it tremendously with their courage to share their own lived experience and knowledge. We are so lucky to have each of you in our communities of Moosonee and Moose Factory. Meegwetch
Although we are a day late – we do want to acknowledge that yesterday (May 7th) was Child and Youth Mental Health Day. We encourage you all to make every day about improving the mental health of our children – every interaction counts & we all have a role to play – this is the core message behind Natural Helpers for the Children.
In closing, we leave you with a beautiful infographic created by our incredible Early Childhood Education Internship student Priscila – that summarizes her learning experience through the Natural Helpers Program and how communities can support the early years.
Moosonee and Moose Factory – keep a look out for our next cohort!
If you live or work in one of the communities we service and you are interested in bringing Natural Helpers to your own community, please contact our Prevention Coordinator, Brittany Biedermann at Brittany.biedermann@cyms.ca
